Long back Google had it’s own authority metric called PR or Page Rank that assigned authority score on a scale of 0-10. However, they scraped the Internet Explorer plugin that was used to check the score and confirmed that the metric will not be updated there after.
That’s when website owners started using the Domain Authority score offered by Moz, which back then was the most popular SEO tool.
Now, there are multiple tools that provide quality score just like Moz DA. This includes Domain Rating provided by Ahrefs, Authority Score by SEMRush and Trust Flow created by Majestic.
Domain Authority score ranges from 1-100. The higher the DA score, the better the quality of the site.
This also translates into higher chances of the website generating organic traffic and rankings.
